Michael Vasalani – Strength/Conditioning Coordinator

Entering 22nd season with organization and 28th in National Hockey League...Appointed to his current post on September 1, 1993...Joined Devils after spending previous six years as assistant strength and conditioning coach for both the Washington Capitals and the University of Maryland...While at Maryland, helped develop strength and conditioning programs for 21 intercollegiate varsity sports with an emphasis on basketball and football...Also served as head strength and conditioning coach at Gallaudet University (for hearing impaired students) in Washington, D.C. from February 1992 until joining Devils...Aside from primary responsibilities, since 1988 he has directed speed, strength, agility and motivational clinics for high school and college athletes in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. areas...Is a member of both the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the International Sports Science Association...Married, wife’s name is Joanie...The couple has two daughters, 14- year-old Ava Nicole and 11-year-old Olivia Lauren.
